Philth is up in a fearsome Flexout lineup on the 21st (see the flyer below) and gave us a completely monumental mix, words and pic of his cat.

P: D&B is so healthy right now. On this mix I roll out the stink but there are also great things happening with the deeper sounds, the soulful side, the minimal stuff. I played tunes by a lot of the artists/labels that inspire me, people like Gridlok, Noisia, Ulterior Motive, Dispatch, Critical. I guess the selection shows just how much good music is about at the moment… I wanted to play more of a varied selection but I ended up with 80 minutes of tech that could have easily continued. I love deeper music but sometimes you just have to smash it out!

DB: Totally. The vibe of this upcoming gig is looking very, very grimy and sweaty, would you agree? I’m just absorbing the lineup.

P: You know Need For Mirrors and Break are gonna bring the nasty future beats. These guys are at the top of their game right now I’m looking forward to hearing their sets. And I know I’ve got some dirty beats ready for this event. Forward thinking selection is definitely the theme in Room 1. But then there’s also a deeper aspect to the night: Dramatic + dbAudio are pushing a beautiful rolling sound, and Eleven8 just writes amazing deep music. Of course not forgetting the jungle don Kenny Ken!
