Video directed by So Me.
Any fans of the French band Poney Poney are in for a treat, as the boys have returned under the name JAMAICA, a band that – if the song above is anything to go by – bodes to produce some great songs. For any doubters, I give you something guaranteed to quell your reservations… the French duo have some great producers behind them; Xavier de Rosnay of Justice and Daft Punk’s sound engineer; Peter Franco.
Can we possibly give you more? A promising video, from a promising new band, with excellent producers? Well, yes, we can. We have their first official song I think I like U 2, which you can get, for free HERE, and also news of a yet to be named debut album from JAMAICA, which has been produced by those aformentioned which is due for release this August, so keep an eye out on their website.
More after the jump.
Recording: Antoine and Flo came up with two candidates for the challenge of producing their album: Peter J. Franco and Xavier de Rosnay. Both were agreed to work with the band on one condition: that no synthesizers would be involved. Once they were satisfied with the team they had assembled, they settled into Motorbass studio in Paris, France with a minimal and unconventional set up. Within a few months they had completed an album which meets today’s thirst for chromed production.
