DB: the sound of this new 12 [Smuggler/After Midnite] is blazing. It’s interesting that there’s so much talk and speculation in music these days, yet this just sounds business as usual, would you agree?

G: I try my best to not pay attention to what is going on outside my world. Too much carbon copy music and I think it’s a result of drinking the kool aid all day long. Sometimes it’s best to just turn off your modem and do what YOU like!

DB: Ha ha, ‘modem’. Indeed! I know your music but I never know where you’re from?

G: California. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in L.A. and S.F., but back in S.F. currently.

DB: What is the stuff that most influenced you coming up and continues to now? I guess I’m feeling something special from the b side especially…

G: The B side is my favorite kinda drum & bass, maybe that shines through in the track. ‘Smuggler’ is inspired by things some governments do. It’s funny how they do all the shady shit but they make it look like it’s us.

DB: And back to D&B any shifts you’re aware of?

G: It’s just had a major enema in my opinion. we’re left with a tighter scene with some of the half-asses out of the way!

DB: What places do you play out that are on fire with the music? & are you in UK soon?

G: Honestly it’s really hard to say cause there is so much good stuff going on all over the globe. I guess the standards like LA and London. But also some suprises like New Zealand, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Vienna, but honestly man there are healthy scenes all over the world! I’ll be landing in the UK for 5 weeks on Aug 22nd.

DB: Thanks, will look out.
