Breakbeat is dead … long live Breakbeat!

I dunno about you folks but in recent times I’ve lost interest in the breaks scene, it seemed to have taken itself down a cul-de-sac of Housey, over-produced beats – what’s happened to the actual breaks in Breakbeat?!?! A fair few of the biggest and bestest producers appear to have abandoned the scene – Tayo (with his Cool & Deadly label), Freq Nasty (check out his Fabriclive.42 Mix) and Baobinga (too much to mention here!) are all off exploring Dubstep/Breakstep/BASS-in-all-it’s-glorious-forms that aren’t Breakbeat!

Well step up Skool of Thought. A stalwart of the scene he’s just released this Electro-infused-breakbeat-stomper of a mix into the wild for you to get your listening gear round. Maybe, just maybe, breaks isn’t a dead scene just yet …
