Oh the memories…

To coincide with the release of ‘Walking Backwards’ on 4th August in the UK - The Futureheads are giving away a couple of remixes. First up is this A-Trak-esque banger from Dolby Anol - rinse out!

As part of the San Miguel Hidden Depths series, The Glimmers played one of the early dates in Manchester. The line up continues this Thursday with Secret Sundaze in London at the T-Bar, Shoreditch.
We’ve got two copies of the new album from the Glimmers to give away - and this competition is open worldwide (yes, we’ll pay for the postage)
All you have to do is simply email us at competitions@friedmylittlebrain.com with your name and address and we will pick two lucky winners this Friday - 1st August. Get typing!
This friday marks the launch of Simian Mobile Discos Fabric Live 41 Mix. They’re hosting room one with Shit Robot, Egyptian Lover and JDH and Dave P, whilst in room three edIT, Husdon Mo, Rustie and Jackmaster are taking over for the evening. The kind folks at Fabric have given us this extremely dirty mixtape from edIT - which is packed full of bleep bass and razor sharp raps from TTC, Busdriver and The Grouch to name a few!
1.Battling Go Go Yubari in Downtown LA
2. Certified Air Raid Material
3. Straight Heat
4. Night Shift feat. Abstract Rude
5. The Sirens
6. Back Up Off the Floor Pt.2 feat. The Grouch
7. If You Crump Stand Up
8. Fire Riddim
9. Artsy Remix feat. The Grouch
10. Crunk de Gaulle feat. Busdriver, TTC and D-Styles

New in from Outlaws comes this heavy heavy remix of Walter Meego’s “Girls” See what Peter of Outlaws has to say below:
It’s got a monster bassline that kicks in at 3.03 (I kid you not!) and a very special surprise sample which means it can’t be released in this form (you’ll notice it, don’t worry), so it’s kind of a special version just for you! The name “Outlaws Done It For You” is ALL TRUE. Fact.
As a special treat too it’s got loads of super mental old school analogue psychedelic noises to trip you out if you’re on drugs, as well as the heavy bass. It’s hard to make weird synths without midi to wig out in time too, so that was fun.
I was going to call it the “My Girl Loves It Analogue” mix, but then I thought that would be a little rude.
So they did it, The Futureheads returned with almighty grace and poise and hammered home their status as one of this country’s finest alt-punk-pop bands in recent memory.
Their third album ‘This Is Not The World’ was met with much praise for the band’s sheer determination and ability to achieve such a comeback.
Sold out tours, a growing fan base and extensive festival offers all came flooding in and kept the Futureheads machine turning. It has no plans to stop here – next single is the excellent ‘Walking Backwards’ on August 4. Bearing one of the catchiest choruses on the album, it’s the third in a long line of potential singles from the album.

The DITCH IT ALL army has been causing mayhem sporadically for the past 18 months now in sweaty dance pits around Shoreditch, but now the crew has found a new and happy home at hotly tipped drinking hole, The Star of Bethnal Green. And with BoomBox overlord Jerry Bouthier and boy-about-town, Stopmakingme, both making appearances, the launch party on Thurs 31st July is not one you want to be missin’, compadres.
If floor-shaking beats aren’t enough to ease the guilt of partying on a Thursday, this month’s soiree is also easy on the Karma with all proceeds going to charity partners, Bollocks To Poverty, the music wing of Action Aid. Finally, getting trashed can come to some good other than comedy dancing and awkward alleyway fumblings.
Line-up -
Jerry Bouthier
Of Boombox fame and fresh back after touring Japan, Mr Bouthier has been working on a number of fantastic remixes and new material under alias JBAG with Andrea Gorgerino. His set is sure to be a spectacle not to be missed and we welcome him to the DIA helm with open arms that are trembling with excitement.
Stopmakingme (AITBF/ Kill em all)
This guy has played at pretty much everywhere that one cares to mention in and around London. Spinning records with such finesse he defies people to stay still. Timeout describes him as “Kill em all’s rising star”.
Plus a glittering array of wilfully ass-rocking residents:
Tomb Crew
NIKNIKNIK
Mattel
To dance your socks of and raise money for a good cause is free before 10pm, after that it’s a mere 5 of your shiniest pounds.
