Mystery Jets - Zoo Time (Zongamin Remix)
Mark | | 9:48 pm
“Mystery Jets are back with their second album. `Twenty One’ is an awe-inspiring collection of oddball pop songs. A clear departure from their debut album `Making Dens’, these four young men have grown up in more ways than one. `Twenty One’ is a huge stylistic and emotional leap forward for the band.
This new emotional depth dovetails neatly with the band’s raised musical ambition on the steamrollering rhythms of flyer single `Young Love’. Featuring their catchiest chorus and a spine-tingling vocal from new London folk singer Laura Marling, its tale of a one-night stand is also remarkable for the richness of Will’s voice. The Mystery Jets have spread their wings in style on their second record.”
The new Mystery Jets album “Twenty One” is a super piece of audio delight! I’ve loved Zongamin for a long long time and here the beats/drums added make this into a nice instrumental number. I’ve had a long weekend, so it’s good to chill to this!

Logistics is clearly not a bloke afraid of experimenting so here’s a track from the Japanese pressing of Reality Checkpoint called Shanghai Skyline
. He’s brought a whole dubstep feel to this track… I think it’s immense - so check it here!
Bring on more dubstep // drum and bass cross-overs!

Nice one to Mark for suggesting this track for blogging! Dug it out of my collection and chopped it down, ready to remind you kidz what was happening when you weren’t even into double digits…
This track originally featured on the 1998 album Moment of Truth and was kind of a come back album after a four year break… There’s no praise for these guys that hasn’t been said already - super sickness.
BUT, you know how we love a mash-up here - check out the last track on this post at sneakmove… It’s an MF Doom killa and a bit crackly, but wait for the Guru rap to drop in the back half.

Logistics - Reality Checkpoint - Album preview
James | March 27, 2008 | 11:15 pm
2007 was a great year for drum and bass artist albums - let’s hope that 2008 will be just as good. Logistics drops his latest LP Reality Checkpoint in the UK on Monday and I’m really liking this album already after just a couple of listens. There are some tracks that follow on from where Now More Than Ever
left off and others that bring a different flavour. Here two album highlights…
- Reality Checkpoint (yousendit) > title track that is typical Logistics, massive but not overpowering bassline with sick break and quirky sample.
- Cocoon (yousendit) > a completely different style, not even traditional drum and bass at all - you’ve got to check this.
Even the closing track “Back Where We Started” is amazing - it’s got a feeling that reminds me of Burial and that flow that he brought to Untrue.
Pick up Reality Checkpoint from Monday - you can pre-order at Amazon
.
