Dave Gahan “Saw Something/Deeper and Deeper” - Remixes by Skream, Juan McClean and T Raumschmiere

Posted on | December 26, 2007 by Mark |

Dave Gahan, that legend. The one and only lead singer of Depeche Mode, one of my favourite bands released his new single from the Hourglass album on the 20th. The CD Maxi has a slew of remixes from big big names in the electronic genre.

My favourite is the Skream remix which is the typical Skream sound we’ve become to expect. Dark and squelchy and with lots of low end bass, this one’s a great example of a cross over hit.

The Juan McClean “Club Mix” if a little cheesey, is a bit more uplifting than the Skream mix, but again, will suit the people looking for some cross over for the clubs. It’s ok, but not typical of a Juan McClean remix, not hitting it for me. Let me know what you think though?

Raumschmiere. DARK. SOLID. I fucking love this guys work. Always on at you, always pounding your brain like the insides of a car engine. Repetitive, striking and BOLD. Here, Raumschmiere, aka Marco Haas, brings his “punk attitude” to the Gahan track. Punchy drums, rolling bass and haunting lyrics. I’d like to pronounce this as “Deutsch Terror Music”
